English outfit Chelsea are unchanged in their decision to offload English midfielder of Nigerian descent Carney Chukwuemeka this summer.

The youngster was sent out on loan to German Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund in the January transfer window.

Although injuries denied the 21-year-old regular playing time, he gave a good account of himself anytime he was fit to play.

As a result, Dortmund are interested in retaining the services of Carney Chukwuemeka for the 2025/26 football season.

Chelsea are open to the idea and want to sanction a move for the midfielder this summer.

Meanwhile, Borussia Dortmund sporting director Sebastian Kehl has confirmed the club is interested in bringing back Chelsea midfielder Carney Chukwuemeka following a productive loan spell last season.

“We will definitely have some more discussions in the next few days about his situation,” Kehl told BBC Sport. “I think it was a good move from Carney to join us. Now let’s see how we manage everything. It won’t be easy, but we will try to keep him because he’s a very good player.”

Dortmund now need to convince Chelsea to make the signing of Carney Chukwuemeka possible.
