Chelsea join race to sign prolific Guinea striker Serhou Guirassy
English Premier League club Chelsea have joined the race to sign Guinean striker Serhou Guirassy.
According to German outlet Bild, the London club has placed Guirassy on their shortlist and made initial inquiries about his future.
While there is no immediate pressure for a deal, Chelsea are among the clubs capable of triggering his release clause, set at around €50 million.
The Premier League side would have no difficulty matching that figure, and Guirassy’s current salary at Borussia Dortmund, reported to be around €10 million, would also be surpassed without much challenge.
Despite interest from Chelsea and other top teams, those close to Guirassy indicate that the striker is eyeing one more highly lucrative contract. Although he remains tied to Dortmund until 2028, he is reportedly open to a move next summer.
For now, Guirassy intends to concentrate fully on his duties with Borussia Dortmund. He has ruled out a January departure, and the club is not willing to entertain a mid-season transfer either. The real negotiations are expected to begin in the summer.
Bild further reports that Guirassy sees two clear paths for his future: a switch to a major European powerhouse or a big-money offer from Saudi Arabia.
Remaining with Dortmund beyond the summer appears increasingly unlikely, and the club is already monitoring Hoffenheim attacker Fisnik Asllani as a potential replacement.
