Chelsea are reportedly targeting Eintracht Frankfurt striker Hugo Ekitiké as part of their summer transfer plans, with the club prioritising the acquisition of a young centre-forward.
Ekitiké, 22, who has Cameroonian heritage, has enjoyed a standout season in the Bundesliga.
After initially joining Frankfurt on loan from Paris Saint-Germain in January 2024, the move was made permanent in April. He has since scored 14 goals and provided five assists in 28 league appearances this season.
Born in Reims, France, Ekitiké began his career at Stade de Reims before a loan spell in Denmark with Vejle Boldklub.
His performances caught the attention of PSG, leading to a move in 2022. However, limited opportunities prompted his switch to Frankfurt, where he has flourished.
Chelsea’s interest in Ekitiké aligns with their strategy to invest in young talent.
The club is also monitoring Liam Delap, 22, of Ipswich Town, who has netted 12 goals and provided two assists in 31 Premier League appearances this season.
Additionally, Benjamin Šeško, 21, of RB Leipzig, is on their radar, having scored 12 goals and contributed five assists in 29 Bundesliga matches.
Ekitiké’s contract with Eintracht Frankfurt runs until 2029, and the club reportedly values him at €80 million.
Despite this, Chelsea’s management is keen to bolster their attacking options and view Ekitiké as a promising addition to their squad.
