AS Roma has reportedly engaged in discussions with Chelsea regarding the possible transfer of Senegalese striker Demba Ba. Representatives from Roma were in London for negotiations involving the transfer of Erik Lamela to Tottenham, and they expressed interest in acquiring Ba to reinforce their attack.
Ba, who joined Chelsea from Newcastle during the winter transfer window, has seen a reduction in playing time under manager José Mourinho. Despite the potential interest from Roma, Ba has expressed his desire to stay at Chelsea. However, if an agreement is reached, he could join AS Roma, where he might be reunited with Ivorian forward Gervinho. Ba is currently under contract with Chelsea until 2016.
