Demba Ba, despite facing tough competition under José Mourinho’s management at Chelsea this season, remains composed after his crucial goal secured Chelsea’s place in the Champions League semi-final. The Senegalese striker’s goal helped Chelsea eliminate Paris Saint-Germain with a 2-0 victory in the quarter-final second leg.
Reflecting on his performance, Ba stated, “It feels good. It’s a very important goal but it’s just one more goal.” He expressed his frustration at not having many opportunities to shine this season but emphasized his desire to enjoy playing football. Ba also touched upon his complex relationship with Mourinho, stating, “We don’t have to prove anything to him, just to the team.” He acknowledged the challenges but remained focused on contributing positively to the team.
Ba is widely expected to depart from Chelsea at the end of the season.
