Ghana’s Quest for a 4th Title Headlines Group B at CHAN U20 Senegal 2015
The Black Satellites of Ghana are on a mission to claim their 4th continental title at the 13th edition of the CHAN U20 (also referred to as the U20 Africa Cup of Nations), hosted in Senegal. Leading the Ghanaian squad is the experienced Sellas Tetteh, who famously guided Ghana to U20 World Cup glory in 2009 with players like André Ayew and Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu.
Tetteh is no stranger to the U20 stage—his team finished runners-up in 2013, losing to Egypt. In 2015, he’ll be relying heavily on Clifford Aboagye, the talented midfielder who rose to prominence at the 2013 U17 World Cup in the UAE.
🇿🇦 South Africa Rising
South Africa’s Amajitas are riding a wave of optimism following the U17 team’s recent runner-up finish at the U17 AFCON in Niamey. The country’s youth programs are showing tangible results, and the U20s will look to make a strong statement—especially in a highly anticipated group-stage clash against Mali, who defeated their U17s in the final just days ago.
🇲🇱 Mali and 🇿🇲 Zambia: Ambitious Challengers
Mali’s Junior Eagles come into the tournament on a high and will look to maintain their momentum. Meanwhile, Zambia, often seen as underdogs, have set their sights on reaching at least the semi-finals—which would secure a ticket to the FIFA U20 World Cup in New Zealand.
