Ceramica Cleopatra sign winger Ashour Shika from WE as squad gains second ‘Shika’

Ceramica Cleopatra have completed the signing of 23-year-old winger Ashour Shika from WE, making him the 10th addition to Ali Maher’s squad ahead of the new season.

Ashour joins after passing his medical, with the move confirmed as Ceramica continue to strengthen their team during the summer transfer window. He primarily operates on the right wing and arrives following an impressive campaign with المصرية للاتصالات.

The 23-year-old made 34 appearances for المصرية للاتصالات in all competitions last season, scoring nine goals and registering six assists.

His arrival also gives Ceramica Cleopatra two players known as “Shika”. He follows Mohamed El Sayed “Shika”, the former leading scorer for Kahraba Ismailia, who is already part of the squad.

Ceramica’s other summer additions are Mohamed Emad from El Gouna, Mohamed Said “Shika” from Kahraba Ismailia, Moaz Ahmed from Pharco, Khaled El Nabreiss from Ismaily, Fawzi El Hanafi from Haras El Hodoud, Fathy Mohamed from Pharco, Mohamed Alaa from El Gouna, Neitz Gradisar from Al Ahly and Peter Korkis from Duhok of Iraq.

The club have also seen a number of players leave during the close season. Khaled Abdel-Fattah, Fakhri Lakay, Mohamed Adel, Mohamed Sadek, Ali El Gabry, Mohamed Reda, Islam Emad “Risha”, Nour Alaa, Samuel Amadi and Mohamed Toni have all departed.

Ceramica Cleopatra finished last season fourth in the league table in the championship group. The club are now preparing to begin the new campaign with a match against El Qanah on Sunday, 23 August.

Ashour’s signing adds another attacking option for Maher as Ceramica seek to build on last season’s fourth-place finish. His form for المصرية للاتصالات, particularly his combination of goals and assists from the right flank, made him one of the latest players recruited by the club during an active summer of squad building.

The move from WE is also notable for giving Ceramica a second player carrying the “Shika” nickname, creating a distinctive feature within Maher’s group before the opening fixture.
