Celtic maintain perfect start as Haythem Hassan features in Aberdeen win

Celtic strengthened their position at the top of the Scottish Premiership with a 3-0 victory over Aberdeen, as Haythem Hassan made his second consecutive start for the club.

The match, played at Celtic’s home ground in the fifth round of the Scottish league season, saw Celtic claim a fourth win from four matches. The result moved them to 12 points and preserved their perfect record so far, leaving them at the summit of the table.

Celtic took control in the 14th minute when Camilo Duran opened the scoring with a powerful strike from just outside the penalty area. The effort gave Aberdeen an early deficit to overcome and provided the hosts with the platform to take charge of the contest.

Their advantage was doubled after 34 minutes through Benjamin Nygren. Hassan played a role in the move, making progress before delivering a cross which struck an Aberdeen defender. The deflection fell kindly for Nygren, who reacted decisively and sent a firm finish into the net.

Hyun-Jun Yang completed Celtic’s three-goal victory in the 64th minute. Duran turned provider for the third goal, supplying a pass which allowed Yang to run through on goal before calmly placing the ball into the net.

Hassan remained on the pitch for 76 minutes before being replaced by Tunisia international Sebastien Tounekti. The appearance was Hassan’s fourth for Celtic since joining the club and represented his second successive start in the team.

Despite Hassan’s departure before the final stages, Celtic held on to complete a convincing home win without conceding. Duran was involved in two of the three goals, scoring the opener and setting up Yang’s decisive finish, while Nygren also got on the scoresheet.

Celtic will now turn their attention to their next Scottish Premiership fixture, when they travel to face St Mirren on Saturday, 5 September. The match will give them the opportunity to continue their run of four victories and retain their place at the top of the standings.
