Austrian midfielder of Nigerian descent, Carney Chukwuemeka, has opened up on what motivated him to sign for German Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund.
The youngster signed for the Germans in the winter transfer window on loan from English Premier League outfit Chelsea.
Speaking in an interview, Carney Chukwuemeka has indicated that the history of Dortmund as a club that helps young talents to develop made it easy for him to choose the side.
“Many people from my country have come here and been able to show themselves. Jude (Bellingham), Jadon (Sancho), and now Jamie. A great club that promotes talent,” Carney Chukwuemeka told SportsBoom in an interview.
Speaking on what type of player he is, Carney Chukwuemeka noted that he enjoys playing without fear and scoring as well.
“I’m a player who loves to develop freely. I play without fear, I like to dribble, I like to pass, I like to make connections, and I like to finish. All of these things can be expected from me,” said Chukwuemeka.
Although it’s early days, it is understood that Dortmund are considering a permanent deal with Chelsea to sign the Nigerian for the long term.
The summer transfer window will provide clarity on a potential move.
