Austrian-Nigerian midfielder, Carney Chukwuemek, is racing against time to be fully fit for Borussia Dortmund’s clash against Borussia Monchengladbach in the German Bundesliga.
According to Dortmund manager Niko Kovac, Carney Chukwuemeka has trained with the team on Friday but is not fully ready for the upcoming match this weekend.
“Carney Chukwuemeka and Emre Can were partially integrated into training today. It wasn’t too intensive today, but they were there. I hope they will be there tomorrow too. Otherwise, everyone who played against Barcelona is healthy and well,” Kovac said at a press conference on Friday.
Carney Chukwuemeka is on loan at Borussia Dortmund from English Premier League side Chelsea.
The midfielder has suffered various injury setbacks but has been able to make an impact whenever he is available for selection.
Checks have revealed that Dortmund officials are impressed with the youngster and will try to sign him on a permanent basis at the end of the season.
