Austrian-born midfielder of Nigerian descent, Carney Chukwuemeka is close to making a full return from his injury.
The Chelsea player on loan at Borussia Dortmund resumed training with his teammates on Wednesday after spending time on the sidelines.
He has had a difficult start to life in Germany, where he is looking at regaining his form.
So far, he has sustained three minor injuries, which include two knee problems and a thigh issue.
After resuming training last Wednesday, he was assessed before Dortmund played against Augsburg on Saturday.
Unfortunately, he did not pass match fitness and missed out on featuring in the game.
Today, Carney Chukwuemeka took part in Dortmund’s full training session as the side prepares for the Champions League return leg against Lille.
He is expected to be assessed before the upcoming game on Wednesday, March 12.
Meanwhile, Concerns have been raised, with some advising against the permanent signing of the midfielder due to the injuries.
The player who has only played 40 minutes would cost Dortmund 35 million euros should the club still decide to sign him permanently.
He has a lot of potential but needs to stay fit to play regularly to continue his development.
