The African Football Confederation has appointed an Algerian refereeing trio to officiate the Libya-Tunisia match, which is part of the second and penultimate round of qualifiers for the U20 Africa Cup of Nations (Senegal 2015). The match is scheduled for Sunday, May 11, at Blida (Algeria) starting at 5:00 p.m.
The central referee for the match is Mehdi Abid Charef, who will be assisted by his compatriots Sid Ali Brahim Hamlaoui and Mohamed Bichari. The match commissioner is Salih Tarig Atta from Sudan.
This decision to hold the match in Algeria comes as a result of the African Football Confederation’s prohibition on holding international matches in Libya due to the security situation prevailing in the country.
Tunisia secured their qualification at the expense of Mauritania (with a 3-1 victory in the first leg in Tunis and a 3-0 win in the return leg in Nouakchott), while Libya obtained their ticket by defeating Chad (1-0 in the first leg in N’djamena and 3-0 in the return leg in Tunis). The return match will take place in Tunis between May 23 and 25.
