CAF Mission Inspects Morocco’s Cities Ahead of 2015 Africa Cup of Nations
A CAF inspection mission is currently underway in Morocco as part of preparations for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), which will be held from January 17 to February 7. The inspection team is evaluating the four cities selected to host matches during the tournament: Agadir, Marrakech, Rabat, and Tangier.
The team is conducting thorough assessments of the stadiums, training facilities, and accommodation infrastructure to ensure they meet the standards required for the prestigious continental competition. The inspection process is an essential step in confirming that the host cities are fully prepared to welcome teams and fans for the month-long tournament.
In addition to evaluating the match venues, the CAF delegation also attended a presentation of Morocco’s national sports infrastructure upgrade project. This ambitious initiative aims to enhance the Kingdom’s sporting facilities and ensure that they meet international standards. The project is designed to improve both the quality of the infrastructure and the overall experience for athletes, coaches, and spectators.
Morocco has a long history of hosting major international sporting events, and the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations is a key opportunity for the country to further establish itself as a leading sports hub on the continent. The improvements to its sports infrastructure are expected to have a lasting impact, not only for the upcoming AFCON but also for future international competitions.
The CAF delegation will continue its inspections, ensuring that the final preparations for the tournament are on track and that the cities and facilities are ready to host the continental showpiece.
