The lineup for the next Women’s Africa Cup of Nations is shaping up, with several strong teams already qualified for Namibia 2014. Ivory Coast caused a major upset by eliminating the defending champions, Equatorial Guinea, while Nigeria, Cameroon, Algeria, Zambia, Ghana, and South Africa have also secured their spots.
The Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon showed their strength by winning 1-0 at home against Senegal, a result enough to progress after their 1-1 draw in Dakar.
Ghana cruised past Ethiopia with a 3-0 victory at home, sealing a comfortable 5-0 aggregate win. Zambia edged Zimbabwe 1-0 thanks to a decisive goal from Hellen Mubanga.
Algeria also made a notable statement by winning 3-2 against Tunisia in the second leg, overturning a first-leg deficit.
