Midfielder Yaya Touré, regrouping with the Ivory Coast national team in the United Arab Emirates, was admitted to a clinic in Abu Dhabi on Sunday night. The Manchester City player is experiencing a cough and fever, causing him to miss the first training session with his teammates on Sunday morning.
Captain Didier Drogba was also excused from the session due to a slight headache. Coach Sabri Lamouchi did not specify when the players would be back on the field.
The Ivory Coast national team, known as the Elephants, is scheduled to face Egypt at the end of their training on January 14 before heading to South Africa two days later.
