The referees for the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations (CAN) will be kept away from the public during the competition, according to the president of the local organizing committee, Mvuso Mbebe. The referees will be accommodated in a private hotel with restricted access to prevent any attempts at match-fixing or corruption. Mbebe mentioned that the same concept was successfully used during the 2010 FIFA World Cup. The measures aim to maintain the integrity of the tournament, and the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has approved these arrangements. The CAN 2013 is scheduled to take place in South Africa from January 19 to February 10.
