The Nigerian football team, the Super Eagles, will conduct their preparation camp in Portugal before heading to South Africa for the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations. The camp will be located in the city of Faro, providing good training facilities and a climate similar to that of Nelspruit, where they will be based during the tournament. Nigeria, a two-time African champion, is determined to perform well in the 29th AFCON and is placed in Group C, which includes Zambia, the reigning African champion. The decision to choose Faro for the pre-tournament camp was announced by national coach Stephen Keshi.
