Cameroon’s national football coach, Denis Lavagne, has called upon Leonard Kweuke from Sparta Prague to replace Samuel Eto’o in the squad. Eto’o recently announced in an open letter to the president of the Cameroonian football federation that he was suspending his participation in the national team’s activities. In the letter, Eto’o cited recurring inadequacies and issues of indiscipline that he had previously highlighted as the captain. Leonard Kweuke, who was initially left out of the squad, has now been called up following Eto’o’s withdrawal. The national team is preparing for the third and final round of the CAN 2013 qualifiers.
