In a surprising turn of events, the Super Falcons of Nigeria were defeated by the Banyana Banyana in the semi-final of the African Cup of Nations. Despite being designated as the favorites, Nigeria couldn’t overcome the single goal scored by Janine van Wyk in the 24th minute of the first half. The Super Falcons will now face Cameroon in the small final, while South Africa advances to the final to meet Equatorial Guinea. The latter had qualified by beating Cameroon 2-0 in an earlier match.
