Georges-Kévin Nkoudou could be on his way back to Europe, with Turkish side Samsunspor reportedly in advanced discussions to bring the Cameroonian winger to the Süper Lig ahead of the 2025/26 season.
Nkoudou, who joined Saudi Pro League outfit Damac FC as a free agent in 2023, is believed to be a top target for Samsunspor as they look to strengthen their options on the left wing.
The Turkish club is pursuing a three-year deal for the 30-year-old, and is prepared to buy out the remaining year on his current contract with Damac, which runs until June 2026.
The former Tottenham Hotspur and AS Monaco forward has impressed in the Saudi top flight this season, featuring in 29 out of 34 league matches for Damac.
His tally of 13 goals and four assists has drawn renewed interest from European sides, with Samsunspor leading the race to secure his signature.
While no official agreement has yet been reached, negotiations are said to be progressing well.
Additional reports suggest that Nkoudou himself is open to a return to Europe and has privately shared this desire with close confidants.
A product of Paris Saint-Germain’s youth system, Nkoudou has had an eventful professional journey.
After establishing himself at FC Nantes, he moved to Olympique de Marseille before earning a high-profile transfer to Tottenham in 2016.
Following limited opportunities in the Premier League, he eventually found stability with Turkish giants Beşiktaş during a spell that began in 2019.
Nkoudou’s familiarity with Turkish football could play a pivotal role in his decision-making.
His past experience in Istanbul may ease the transition should he agree to terms with Samsunspor, who appear eager to make him a central figure in their squad rebuild.
Despite his current market value standing at €5 million, Samsunspor’s willingness to negotiate a transfer fee indicates their serious intent.
The club sees Nkoudou as a player capable of delivering both goals and experience, having amassed a wealth of top-tier exposure across France, England, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey.
As talks continue, the next few weeks could prove decisive for both Nkoudou and Samsunspor.
A return to European football seems increasingly likely — and for the Cameroonian international, it may mark the start of another significant chapter in a career that has taken him across several continents.
