Georges-Kévin N’Koudou is edging closer to a potential return to European football, with Turkish Super Lig side Samsunspor currently in active discussions to secure his signature.
The Cameroonian international, who has spent the season with Saudi Pro League outfit Damac FC, is reportedly a primary target for Samsunspor ahead of the summer transfer window.
According to reports published by Africafoot, negotiations are well underway between all parties involved, with the Turkish club hoping to finalise a three-year deal for the 29-year-old winger.
Sources suggest Samsunspor are also prepared to open talks with Damac to reach an agreement on the final year of N’Koudou’s existing contract, signalling their determination to complete the move. The club is believed to see the experienced wide man as a key addition to bolster their attacking options ahead of the new season.
N’Koudou, who was born in Versailles, France, is understood to be open to the idea of returning to Europe. After spending the past season in the Middle East, where he delivered impressive performances for Damac, the prospect of a move to Turkey is said to appeal to the player.
This season, N’Koudou has enjoyed a strong campaign in the Saudi Pro League, finding the net 13 times and registering four assists across 29 appearances.
His consistent output on the left flank has not gone unnoticed, with his pace, directness and finishing ability continuing to draw interest from clubs across Europe. Transfermarkt currently values the winger at €5 million.
A potential transfer to Samsunspor would mark a return to more familiar territory for N’Koudou, who previously played for several clubs across Europe, including Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League, AS Monaco and Olympique de Marseille in Ligue 1, as well as Beşiktaş in Turkey.
His previous stint in the Turkish top flight could make the transition smoother, as he remains well-regarded by fans and observers of the league.
The former France youth international, who later switched his allegiance to Cameroon at senior level, brings both top-level experience and versatility to any side he joins.
In addition to his preferred role on the left wing, he is capable of playing on the right or in more central attacking positions.
Should the move materialise, N’Koudou would join a Samsunspor side keen to build on their recent form and push for greater stability and ambition in the Super Lig.
The club’s interest in the Cameroonian reflects a broader trend of Turkish teams looking to add proven international quality to their squads.
As talks progress, the coming weeks could be decisive in shaping N’Koudou’s next chapter. While no official confirmation has yet been made, all indications point towards a summer exit from Saudi Arabia and a fresh challenge back in European football, one that could see the Cameroonian international once again competing on a prominent stage.
