Naomi Eto, a standout talent from the U20 Women’s World Cup, has officially joined EA Guingamp Filles in France on a six-month contract, marking her debut in European football.
This move represents a significant milestone in the young Cameroonian striker’s career.
Despite sharing a surname with the legendary Samuel Eto’o, Naomi has no familial ties to the former Indomitable Lions captain.
However, both share an unwavering commitment to the sport and a remarkable ability to find the back of the net. Born in 2004, Naomi has quickly become one of Africa’s promising talents in women’s football.
Eto gained international recognition during the U20 Women’s World Cup held in Colombia in September 2024, where she scored four goals and finished as the tournament’s fourth-highest scorer.
As captain of the U20 Indomitable Lionesses, she was instrumental in leading Cameroon to their debut Round of 16 appearance.
Having honed her skills at the Roger Milla Football Academy and later at Amazones FAP, she has emerged as one of the top strikers in the Cameroonian league.
EA Guingamp hopes Naomi will enhance their attacking options as they strive to maintain their place in France’s top women’s division.
