Frank Zambo Anguissa is on the verge of leaving Napoli, with the Cameroonian midfielder closing in on a high-profile move to Saudi Arabian side Al-Hilal in a deal reportedly worth €25 million.

The 31-year-old has reportedly agreed in principle to the terms proposed by the Riyadh-based club, according to Italian outlet Il Mattino.

Negotiations between Al-Hilal and Napoli are now in advanced stages, with both parties optimistic about finalising the transfer in the coming days.

Napoli, under the guidance of new sporting director Giovanni Manna, is not expected to stand in the player’s way.

Having recently triggered an automatic extension clause to keep Anguissa at the club until 2026, the Italian side now appears willing to facilitate his departure on amicable terms.

Anguissa, who joined Napoli in 2021, played a key role in their 2022–23 Scudetto-winning campaign.

His physicality, composure, and tactical discipline made him a cornerstone of the midfield under then-manager Luciano Spalletti.

However, as Napoli looks to reshape its squad and align with a new long-term vision, Anguissa’s chapter with the club appears to be drawing to a close.

The transfer forms part of a broader pattern, with Saudi Arabian clubs continuing to invest heavily in elite football talent ahead of the 2032 World Cup, which the country is set to host.

Napoli, too, is reportedly bracing for further interest from Gulf teams, including potential moves for star forward Victor Osimhen.

The combined sale of Anguissa and Osimhen could fetch the Serie A club close to €100 million—funds that could be pivotal in overhauling the squad ahead of the next campaign.

Anguissa’s prospective move to Al-Hilal will not only reunite him with a number of high-profile names who have made similar switches to the Saudi Pro League, but also provide him with the chance to feature in the upcoming Club World Cup.

It marks a significant new chapter in a career that has spanned spells at Marseille, Fulham, Villarreal, and Napoli.

While his exit may not come with the fanfare of others, it brings an end to a quietly impactful stint in Naples.

Anguissa leaves behind a legacy of consistency and silverware, closing his Serie A journey with both dignity and gratitude.
