Cameroonian midfielder Joss Didiba has signed a two-year contract extension with FC Zlín, solidifying his place at the Czech club until June 2027.
The 27-year-old has played a pivotal role in FC Zlín’s recent success, helping the team clinch top spot in the Czech second division and secure promotion to the Fortuna Liga.
His consistent performances throughout the 2024/25 season have not gone unnoticed, earning him a new deal as the club prepares for life back in the top flight.
Didiba joined Zlín in July 2022 and has become a cornerstone of the squad’s midfield.
A defensive anchor with a commanding presence, the Cameroonian featured in 24 of the club’s 30 league matches during the promotion campaign, and appeared in a total of 27 fixtures across all competitions, scoring once and recording one assist.
In a statement posted on social media, FC Zlín confirmed the contract extension and praised the midfielder’s contributions on and off the pitch.
The club’s faith in Didiba reflects his importance within the squad and signals a commitment to maintaining squad stability ahead of their return to the top tier.
According to Transfermarkt, Didiba is currently valued at €225,000.
While not the flashiest name in European football, his influence in Zlín’s midfield has been key to their tactical balance and defensive solidity throughout the season.
His extension comes at a crucial time as FC Zlín aims to establish themselves as a competitive force in the Fortuna Liga next season.
Retaining experienced players like Didiba will be essential in meeting the challenges of top-tier football.
