Cameroonian forward Kevin Soni departs Železničar Pančevo amid Turkish interest

Cameroonian forward Kevin Soni departs Železničar Pančevo amid Turkish interest

Kevin Soni has officially ended his time with Serbian side Železničar Pančevo after agreeing to a mutual termination of his contract.

The Cameroonian forward, who joined the club during the 2025 winter transfer window, departs despite having established himself as a regular starter in the squad.

The decision to part ways was made amicably between the player and club management, with both sides reaching a mutual understanding.

Soni, a former Girona player, made 10 appearances across all competitions during his brief stint in Serbia, finding the net once.

Although his impact in terms of goals was limited, his consistent inclusion in the starting lineup reflected the coaching staff’s trust in his ability and experience.

The 27-year-old attacker’s departure, however, comes as part of a broader plan to explore new opportunities, and Turkey appears to be the most likely next destination.

Soni has reportedly attracted strong interest from Erzurumspor FK, a club competing in the Turkish First League.

Negotiations between the Turkish side and the player’s representatives are said to be well underway, with a proposed two-year contract on the table.

Erzurumspor FK are keen to strengthen their attacking line and see Soni as a valuable addition, given his European experience and versatility in forward positions.

The club’s leadership views the Cameroonian as a player capable of adapting quickly and contributing both on and off the ball—qualities that have guided their approach during talks.

Soni’s name has also been linked with Adana Demirspor, a club currently competing in the Turkish Süper Lig.

Though no formal bid has yet been reported, sources close to the situation suggest that preliminary contact has been made and the club is closely monitoring the player’s availability.

Soni, who began his professional career with Barcelona’s youth setup before embarking on spells with clubs including Peralada, Espanyol, and Villarreal B, has accumulated experience across a number of European leagues.

He later moved on to join Girona and later had stints in France and Greece before signing with Železničar Pančevo earlier this year.

According to Transfermarkt, Soni currently holds a market value of €400,000, a figure that makes him an accessible target for clubs looking to add depth and international flair to their rosters.

His skillset, which includes pace, dribbling, and adaptability across the attacking line, continues to attract interest from teams operating at different competitive levels.

While his time in Serbia may have been brief, Soni leaves Železničar Pančevo having gained further experience in a new league and is now poised for another chapter in his career.

Should a move to Turkey materialise, it would represent a new challenge for the Cameroonian, one that aligns with his ambition to compete in a more demanding and high-profile footballing environment.

As the summer transfer window progresses, Kevin Soni’s next move is expected to be finalised in the coming weeks, with Turkish clubs leading the chase to secure his services.
