Brentford winger Bryan Mbeumo is reportedly growing increasingly frustrated with Manchester United as the Premier League giants deliberate over a third bid for his services.
The Cameroonian international has emerged as a key target for United in the ongoing transfer window, but negotiations have stalled due to disagreements over valuation.
Mbeumo, who enjoyed an outstanding 2024/25 campaign, is believed to be eager to join United, a club he has supported since his youth.
However, Standard Sport reports that the forward is becoming disillusioned with the pace of talks as the Red Devils’ initial offers have fallen short of Brentford’s asking price.
United have already added Brazilian striker Matheus Cunha to their squad after activating his £62.5 million release clause, but manager Ruben Amorim remains keen to strengthen the attack further.
Last season, United managed just 44 Premier League goals — a tally lower than the likes of West Ham, Wolves, and Crystal Palace — underlining the need for more firepower.
Brentford are holding firm on their valuation of Mbeumo, reportedly demanding over £60 million for a player who scored 20 goals and provided seven assists in the league last season.
Director of football Phil Giles has suggested that Mbeumo is content to remain at the club if no agreement is reached.
Despite the stalemate, there are positive signs for United. Mbeumo is said to be encouraged by the wage package on offer at Old Trafford, and the club’s interest in tabling a third bid signals their intent to push for a deal.
