The 28-year-old Cameroonian international, Salomon Banga Bindjeme has embarked on a new chapter in his football career, joining the Iraqi championship and signing with Al Shorta until the summer of 2025.

Al Shorta, currently securing the second position in the Iraqi standings with 29 points, remains steadfast in its pursuit of the league title, trailing four points behind the leader, Al Quwa Al Jawiya, after 13 fixtures.

Identifying defense as a key area for reinforcement, the club has welcomed Salomon Banga Bindjeme as a vital addition to bolster their backline.

The club officially announced the acquisition of the Cameroonian defender through a press release shared across its social media platforms.

The statement reads, “Reinforcement of the summer transfer window. The police team welcomes Cameroonian Salomon Banga Bindjeme until the end of next season.”

This move represents a notable shift for Bindjeme, who has spent the entirety of his football career on the African continent.

Beginning with Coton Sport in Cameroon, his journey included stints with Al Hilal in Sudan, Difaâ El Jadida in Morocco, and APR in Rwanda.

Now, the seasoned defender embraces a new experience in Asian football, equipped with the valuable international experience of six caps and one goal for the Cameroonian national team.

Salomon Banga Bindjeme’s arrival at Al Shorta is seen as a strategic move to fortify the team’s defense and contribute to their ambitions for the season.

His wealth of experience is expected to bring a valuable dynamic to Al Shorta’s efforts as they vie for the Iraqi championship title.
