Inter Milan are continuing their efforts to finalise the signing of Jackson Tchatchoua, with the Cameroonian defender reportedly having already agreed in principle to join the Serie A giants during the current summer transfer window.

According to journalist Sacha Tavolieri, Inter see the 23-year-old as a key reinforcement should Dutch full-back Denzel Dumfries depart the club in the coming weeks.

The Italian side is said to be keen to bolster their defensive options ahead of the new season, and Tchatchoua’s name remains high on their shortlist.

However, the race for his signature is far from over. English Premier League side Nottingham Forest have also expressed concrete interest and are believed to have prepared a formal offer for the Hellas Verona player.

Additionally, French club Olympique de Marseille and Turkish champions Galatasaray are also monitoring the situation closely.

Tchatchoua has attracted significant attention following a breakout season in Italy. Since joining Hellas Verona, the Ixelles-born right-back has impressed both fans and club officials with his consistent performances on the flank.

Last season, he made 36 appearances across all competitions, contributing two goals and three assists in the process.

His blend of speed, stamina and defensive discipline has made him one of the most talked-about young talents in Serie A.

Inter’s interest appears to have intensified due to uncertainty surrounding Dumfries’ future. Should the Dutch international depart San Siro this summer, the Nerazzurri are eager to move swiftly to secure a suitable replacement.

Tchatchoua, with his Serie A experience and versatility, fits the profile of player head coach Simone Inzaghi is believed to be looking for.

Despite growing speculation, Tchatchoua remains under contract with Hellas Verona until June 2027. The club is under no immediate pressure to sell and may demand a significant fee for the Cameroonian international.

According to figures listed on Transfermarkt, his current market value is estimated at eight million euros, a figure that could rise given the level of competition for his services.

While Verona are reportedly pleased with the defender’s development and could still hope to retain him, the growing list of potential suitors suggests a summer move is increasingly likely.

Tchatchoua’s current trajectory has convinced his management of his readiness for a bigger stage, and discussions are expected to intensify as the window progresses.

The coming weeks could prove pivotal, with Inter Milan looking to finalise negotiations while Nottingham Forest, Marseille and Galatasaray continue to monitor developments.

For now, Tchatchoua remains one of the most sought-after defensive prospects in the European market, and his next move could shape the course of his promising career.
