Cameroonian defender Ahmad Ngouyamsa attracts interest from Ligue 2 side Pau FC

Cameroonian defender Ahmad Ngouyamsa attracts interest from Ligue 2 side Pau FC

Ahmad Ngouyamsa, who recently parted ways with Rodez AF due to limited playing time, is drawing serious interest from French second-tier outfit Pau FC ahead of the new season.

The 24-year-old Cameroonian right-back is reportedly being closely monitored by the Ligue 2 side, as they look to strengthen their defensive options.

Pau FC are said to be actively assessing the possibility of bringing Ngouyamsa into their ranks as part of their summer transfer plans.

Ngouyamsa’s exit from Rodez came after a season that saw him struggle to secure consistent minutes on the pitch.

Despite making 18 appearances during the 2023–24 Ligue 2 campaign, the Yaoundé-born defender did not establish himself as a regular starter, prompting his decision to seek a fresh challenge elsewhere.

His availability has not gone unnoticed. In addition to Pau FC’s interest, Cypriot side Apollon Limassol have also emerged as potential suitors.

The club, which has previously shown a willingness to recruit from the French leagues, is reported to have already expressed concrete interest in the player.

With a current market valuation of €500,000, according to Transfermarkt, Ngouyamsa represents an attractive option for clubs looking to reinforce their backline without incurring a significant financial outlay.

His blend of athleticism and defensive discipline has made him a valuable asset on the radar of teams both in France and abroad.

The coming weeks could prove decisive for the former Dijon FCO player, as he evaluates his next move. Pau FC, who finished mid-table in the previous Ligue 2 season, are believed to be in the market for a full-back capable of adding depth and experience to their squad.

Ngouyamsa’s profile, which combines top-flight training with second-division experience, aligns with the club’s recruitment strategy.

Apollon Limassol, meanwhile, may offer the Cameroonian international a different path—one that includes European competition and a new environment outside France.

While no formal offer has yet been confirmed, discussions are understood to be at a preliminary stage, with the Cypriot club weighing their options.

Ngouyamsa’s future remains open, but one thing is clear: the defender’s availability has generated real interest in the current transfer market.

Whether he opts for a return to regular football in Ligue 2 or pursues a new challenge abroad, the next chapter in his career appears imminent.

For now, Pau FC lead the race, though much may depend on how quickly negotiations progress and whether Apollon or any other club step up their pursuit.

As the summer window gathers pace, the Cameroonian right-back stands at a pivotal crossroads—one that could define the trajectory of his professional journey.
