It appears that Volker Finke, the German coach, is set to be appointed as the head coach of the Cameroon national football team, the Indomitable Lions. The formalization of this appointment is expected to take place in the coming hours, as reported by consistent sources. The decision to appoint Finke was reportedly favored by the commission responsible for selecting the next coach for the team led by Samuel Eto’o.
Africa Top Sports had previously mentioned the possibility of Finke’s appointment, and at that time, it was suggested that the choice was influenced by a partnership with the equipment supplier Puma, which is associated with the Lions and Fecafoot.
The announcement of Finke’s appointment may be made sooner than originally planned due to the illness of Jean-Paul Akono. Initially, there was an arrangement for Akono to coach the team in June matches, but the worsening of his illness has led to a change in plans.
