After a tumultuous start with a tense atmosphere and the occupation of Fecafoot headquarters by the police, the general assembly of the Cameroonian Football Federation (Fecafoot) proceeded with the elections. Outgoing president Mohammed Iya, who is currently in prison for embezzlement, was re-elected to head the governing body of Cameroonian football. He secured 97 votes out of a possible 98. Due to his imprisonment, it is expected that his first vice-president, Francis Mveng, will lead the Cameroonian Football Federation.
