Cameroon international Andre Onana is determined to stay at Manchester United ahead of the new campaign, turning down an offer from AS Monaco.
The Premier League giants are currently in the market searching for a goalkeeper following Onan’s inconsistent performance in goal last season. The Red Devils were poor last season, finishing 15th on the league table and also losing the Europa League title to Tottenham Hotspur.
Monaco, a Ligue 1 outfit, had interest in Onana, but he turned down the opportunity to leave the Premier League.
The Cameroonian international is determined to help the Red Devils return to the top of English and European football after a challenging. Onana intentions are clear, that is, to prove his worth and cement his role as Manchester United’s undisputed first choice shot stopper.
To provide competition for Onana, Manchester United intends to sign another goalkeeper to foster healthy competition within the squad and push the former Inter Milan star to new levels.
The 29-year-old goalkeeper conceded 44 goals and kept 9 cleans sheets in 34 Premeir League appearances last term.
