Manchester United goalkeeper André Onana is expected to make a key decision regarding his future amid growing transfer speculation ahead of the summer window.
The Cameroonian shot-stopper has emerged as a potential target for clubs in the Saudi Pro League, with United reportedly open to offloading several players as part of a major squad overhaul.
However, despite the interest, Onana appears determined to remain at Old Trafford.
According to the Daily Mirror, the 28-year-old is set to reject a big-money move to Saudi Arabia in favor of continuing as Manchester United’s first-choice goalkeeper.
Onana, who arrived from Inter Milan in a £43.8 million deal in 2023, still has three years left on his contract, meaning any potential transfer would require a significant fee.
Although new head coach Ruben Amorim is expected to reshape the squad for his debut season in charge, Onana is not likely to be among the departures.
His position at the club was recently highlighted by minority owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe, who acknowledged the challenges United face in restructuring their squad.
“If you look at the players we are buying this summer, that we didn’t buy, we’re buying Antony, we’re buying Casemiro, we’re buying Onana, we’re buying Højlund, we’re buying Sancho,” Ratcliffe told the BBC.
“These are all things from the past; whether we like it or not, we’ve inherited those things and have to sort that out.”
Meanwhile, United’s backup goalkeeper Altay Bayindir is reportedly considering his future.
The former Fenerbahçe keeper has made only a handful of appearances this season and is seeking more game time, which may not be possible as long as Onana remains the club’s No. 1.
