Cameroon goalkeeper Andre Onana is playing a key role in Manchester United’s quest to secure the signing of forward Bryan Mbeumo this summer.
Mbeumo, who enjoyed an amazing season with Brentford has emerged as a top transfer target for the Red Devils as they seeks to augment their squad for the new season.
According to reports, Onana faced a barrage of criticism last season, has been putting words in the ears of his compatriot to choose Manchester United over Tottenham Hotspurs, who are also interested in the striker.
Meanwhile, Manchester United have reportedly agree personal terms with the attacker. However, the Old Trafford club will have to meet Brentford asking price before the move can happen this summer.
Mbeumo featured in all 38 Premier League games last term, scoring 20 goals and providing eight assists in the process.
His current contract with Brentford is expected to expire in 2026 after arriving at the club in 2019.
