Cameroon goalkeeper Andre Onana agrees to join Turkish side Trabzonspor
Turkish Super Lig outfit Trabzonspor are set to bolster their goalkeeping department with the acquisition of Cameroon international Andre Onana.
Having fallen down the pecking at Manchester United, the former Ajax and Inter Milan shot stopper is set to depart the Premier League club in search of regular playing time.
Onana had not given the green light previously despite Manchester United and Trabzonspor agreeing on a move for the Cameroon goalkeeper.
In a dramatic turn of an event, the former Inter Milan goalkeeper has finally agreed to join Trabzonspor following the arrival of Belgian shot-stopper Senne Lammens. He is joining the Turkish club on a season-long loan without any purchase option.
Onana has signed all documents on his side, awaiting counter approval from Trabzonspor before sealing the move this week. Meanwhile, the shot stopper is expected to seal the move before the closure of the Turkish window on September 12.
With his wealth of experience following spells in the Netherlands, Italy and England, Onana is expected to play a huge role for Trabzonspor in the ongoing season.
Onana joined Manchester United in summer 2023, with his current contract expected to run out in summer 2028.
