Cameroon goalkeeper Andre Onana has eulogized himself following Manchester United’s outstanding comeback win over Lyon in the Europa League.
Onana reinstated in the starting lineup for the return leg against Lyon after being dropped for Newcastle United showdown, where the Red Devils succumbed to a 4-1 defeat.
Both teams settled for a 2-2 draw in the first leg held in France. However, the return leg held at the Old Trafford produced a chunk of goals.
Manchester United were cruising to a 2-0 win until Lyon staged a strong comeback to level the score in the dyeing moment to send the game to extra time.
The Red Devils were trailing 4-2 in the 113th-minute mark but managed to score three times to secure a 5-4 aggregate win, ensuring the team book a spot in the semifinals.
England international Harry Maguire netted the decisive goal in the added time of extra time to send the side to the last four.
After the game, Onana took to social media, saying, “Built with ONANA MENTALITY,” suggesting that United’s dramatic win was largely thanks to his character.
Manchester United will lock horns with Spanish side Athletic Bilbao in the semifinals of the competition.
