GEORGES MANDJECK SIDELINED FOR THREE WEEKS WITH ADDUCTOR INJURY
Bad news for Georges Mandjeck and both club and country. The Cameroonian midfielder will be out for three weeks after suffering a contusion to his left adductor during the match against Ivory Coast in the final round of the 2015 AFCON qualifiers.
“It’s a big blow for me,” Mandjeck told Camfoot.com. “I would have liked to continue this good run. The club is struggling at the moment, and I would have really liked to be there, close to my teammates, to help.”
The Kayseri Erciyesspor player also expressed concern about the timing of the injury, with the Africa Cup of Nations just weeks away.
“This wasn’t the time for me to get injured,” he admitted. “I need to keep improving and play regularly. I have to work hard to speed up my recovery.”
Mandjeck will now focus on his rehabilitation, hoping to return in time to be considered for Cameroon’s final squad heading to Equatorial Guinea in January.
