Cameroon face eliminated Cape Verde with official line-ups confirmed in Women’s AFCON 2026
Cameroon will face Cape Verde in their third Women’s Africa Cup of Nations 2026 group-stage match at 20:00 GMT, with the two teams approaching the fixture from very different positions.
Cameroon have already secured qualification for the next stage and go into the match as favourites. Cape Verde, meanwhile, have been eliminated from the competition and will be playing only for pride before ending their campaign.
The official starting line-ups for both sides have now been announced.
Cape Verde will begin with Lara in goal, while Varsenia, Alivia, Larissa, Eleia, Ivania, Leonilde and Leidina are also included in the starting XI. Eveline, Raissa and Irlanda complete the team selected for the match.

Cameroon’s starting side includes Cathy, Berthe, Gabrielle and Fadimatou, with Grace also named in the team. Naomi, Brunelle, Colette, Claudia, Genevieve and Myriam complete the line-up for the already-qualified side.

The match is the third group-stage fixture for both nations. Cameroon’s qualification means the result will not determine whether they progress, while Cape Verde cannot reach the next round after being eliminated.
That leaves Cape Verde with the task of finishing their tournament on a positive note. The side will hope to produce a strong performance against one of the competition’s qualified teams, despite having no chance of advancing.
Cameroon, by contrast, will look to maintain their status as the stronger side on paper. Their place in the next phase is already assured, but the fixture offers an opportunity for the team to continue their campaign with another positive result.
Both coaches have opted to name their starting teams ahead of the 20:00 GMT kick-off. With the line-ups confirmed, attention now turns to the final group-stage meeting between Cape Verde and Cameroon at the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations 2026.
