Cameroon defender Jean-Charles Castelletto joins Qatari outfit Al-Duhail on three-year deal
Qatari outfit Al-Duhail have completed the acquisition of Cameroon international Jean-Charles Castelletto ahead of the 2025/26 football campaign.
The 30-year-odl defender joins Al-Duhail on a three-year deal in the ongoing transfer window, bringing an end to his spell at French outfit FC Nantes.
Despite reportedly undergoing medicals at both Al-Jazira and Al-Wakrah, the experienced defender has joined Al-Duhail.
The Qatari outfit won the race to snap up the defender, having match their rivals’ €4m bid and improved the terms on offer to land Castelletto.
Castelletto spent five seasons in Nantes, with which he won the 2022 Coupe de France. The 30-time Cameroon international featured 163 times with Les Canaris.
Nantes planned for Castelletto’s exit in signing Chidozie Awaziem from Colorado Rapids. With Christophe Galtier’s Al-Duhail, Castelletto will cross paths with former Ligue 1 players like Benjamin Bourigeaud or Marco Verratti.
