Cameroon and the Central African Republic (CAR) have secured the final two spots for the 2025 U-17 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) after finishing as the top two teams in the Union of Central African Football Federations (UNIFFAC) qualifiers in Douala.
The tournament, set to take place in Morocco from March 30 to April 19, will now feature a complete lineup of 16 teams.
Cameroon dominated the regional qualifiers with a series of commanding performances, including a resounding 7-1 victory over Gabon.
The Indomitable Lions demonstrated their attacking prowess, scoring an impressive 22 goals while conceding just once throughout the competition.
Their dominance ensured they finished at the top of the standings, confirming their place in the continental championship.
Meanwhile, the Central African Republic overcame a difficult start to claim their historic qualification.
After suffering a heavy 9-0 defeat to Cameroon in their opening match, they responded with resilience, securing back-to-back wins—including a crucial 1-0 victory over Gabon—to finish second and earn a place in the tournament for the first time.
With Cameroon and CAR completing the list of qualified nations, attention now turns to the final preparations for the highly anticipated U-17 AFCON in Morocco, where the continent’s brightest young talents will compete for the prestigious title.
