Pierre Womé Llend, the left-back, has taken on a new role in the administration of Canon de Yaoundé but has not yet decided to hang up his boots. Despite being appointed to the administration, he continues to play and expressed his disappointment at not being included in the list of players selected by coach Jean-Paul Akono for the upcoming FIFA Day on November 14.
In response to not receiving a call-up, Womé Llend stated, “We let the coach make his choices. I haven’t been summoned, it’s not the end of the world. It’s normal that when the call-up does not arrive, you are embarrassed, but hey, I remain a player, and I do not decide on my call-up.”
Womé Llend had made a return to the Indomitable Lions during the return match of the CAN qualifiers against Cape Verde, earning praise for his performance. While not being selected for the upcoming FIFA Day, he remains an active player.
Cameroon, eliminated for the final phase of CAN 2013, is scheduled to play against Albania in a friendly match. Despite his administrative role, Womé Llend seems keen to continue contributing on the field when called upon.
