The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced the prize monies for the upcoming 2024 Women’s African Cup of Nations tournament.
In a high-stake tournament to be staged in Morocco, the prize money for the competition has now been confirmed, with the winner set to bag one million dollars.
While the runner up takes home $500,000, the third place country is expected to receive $350,000. Meanwhile, the fourth place will take home $300,000.
Besides, countries that make it to the quarterfinals are expected to receive $200,000 each, whereas countries that finishes third and fourth at the group stage earns $150,000 and $125,000 respectively.
The Women’s Africa Cup of Nations will kick off on Saturday, July 5, with the opening match between Morocco and Zambia.
This marks the second consecutive time Morocco is hosting the tournament, having also staged the previous edition two years ago. The current titleholders are South Africa.
