Despite efforts from the Mouloudia Club of Algiers (MCA) management to move their upcoming match against Tanzania’s Young Africans to the Ali-Ammar Stadium, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has denied the request.
The match will remain scheduled at the July 5 Stadium, but it will be played behind closed doors.
The decision means that MCA will face their Tanzanian counterparts in an empty stadium, with no fans to support them.
Despite this setback, coach Abdellaoui and his team will need to overcome the psychological challenge of playing in a largely deserted arena.
The team’s focus will be on achieving victory without the backing of the usual home crowd, often considered the “twelfth man” in football.
