CAF issues final ultimatum to Zamalek over Confederation Cup license
According to sources from Al-Masry Al-Youm, CAF has informed Zamalek’s board of directors that the club will not be granted a license to participate in the Confederation Cup until the issue involving former player Khalid Boutaib is resolved.
The CAF decision stems from an ongoing legal dispute between Zamalek and the Moroccan striker. Boutaib had lodged a complaint with FIFA, resulting in a ruling that awarded him €2.4 million in damages.
CAF’s refusal to issue the participation license is directly linked to this unresolved matter.
An insider revealed, “CAF has denied the license request based on a registration suspension notice received on April 24.
They have communicated that the final deadline to resolve this issue and obtain the participation license is July 5.”
