In addition to Issa Hayatou’s re-election, CAF also renewed its executive committee. The Egyptian Mohamed Raouraoua and the Sudanese Magdi Sham el Din faced no opposition and were re-elected. In the West B zone, the Beninese Anjorin Moucharafou won in the second round against the Nigerian Aminu Mohamed Maigari. In the West A zone, the Malian Amadou Diakité won over the Senegalese Augustin Senghor.
Despite multiple attempts, South African Danny Jordan once again failed to ascend to the CAF Executive Committee. He was defeated by the Malagasy Ahmad in the second round of voting.
