The CAF Disciplinary Board has found Tunisian club, Esperance Sportive de Tunis, guilty of misconduct and breaching Articles 82 and 83 of the CAF Disciplinary Code for the inappropriate behaviour of its supporters in their TotalEnergies CAF Champions League fixture against Mamelodi Sundowns.
Following a meeting on Thursday, April 17, the Board agreed to impose a fine of USD150,000 on the Tunisian club.
In an official communique confirming the decision, CAF said, “The CAF Disciplinary Board charged Espérance Sportive de Tunis with misconduct and breaching Articles 82 and 83 of the CAF Disciplinary Code for the inappropriate behaviour of its supporters in their TotalEnergies CAF Champions League fixture against Mamelodi Sundowns (1 April, 2025).
“The Disciplinary Board found Espérance Sportive de Tunis guilty and imposed a fine of USD 150,000.”
Among several other decisions taken at the CAF Disciplinary Board’s meeting on Thursday, Moroccan club AS Far have also been slapped with a fine of USD20,000 after the club was found guilty of misconduct, infringement of Articles 17.1 and 17.5 of the CAF Regulation, failure to organise adequate security, and the use of laser pointers in their TotalEnergies CAF Champions League fixture against Pyramids FC.
