Côte d’Ivoire and Mali have faced various punishments from the CAF Disciplinary Board following.
The Malian Football Federation, charged with misconduct due to the unsporting behaviour of its players towards match officials after their defeat to the hosts in the quarter-finals.
Mali captain Hamari Traore has been handed a four-match suspension, with two of those matches extending to a year.
Additionally, the federation received a $10,000 fine.
Meanwhile, the victorious Cote d’Ivoire football federation faced charges of team misconduct in their match against Mali and was fined $5,000.
The decisions were handed down by the CAF Disciplinary Board, signalling a stern response to incidents that marred the tournament.
These disciplinary actions underscore the commitment of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to maintaining fair play and sportsmanship within the prestigious tournament.
