CAF CUP: RESULTS OF THE ROUND OF 16 AND ALL QUALIFIED FOR THE PLAY-OFFS
The second leg of the round of 16 in the CAF Confederation Cup has concluded, determining the qualifiers for the play-offs. On Sunday, alongside Saturday’s results where Bayelsea, Etoile du Sahel, and El Jadida secured their spots, the remaining teams completed the table, including those eliminated from the Champions League.
ASEC Mimosas impressed their home crowd in Abidjan with a dominant 6-0 victory over Constantine from Algeria. Despite a 1-0 victory for ZESCO United from Zambia, Medeama from Ghana advanced with a 2-1 aggregate score. Petro de Luanda secured their spot with a narrow 1-0 victory over Ismaily.
Djoliba achieved a remarkable comeback against Wadi Degla. After losing the first leg 0-2, the Malians won 2-0 at home and eventually won on penalties with a score of 5-4.
The 8 teams advancing from the round of 16 will join the 8 teams eliminated from the Champions League for the play-offs, which will determine access to the group stage. The draw for this next round will be held on April 1 at CAF headquarters in Cairo.
