The Confederation of African Football (CAF) extended its congratulations to Moroccan international and Paris Saint-Germain right-back Achraf Hakimi, celebrating his 26th birthday on Monday, November 4.
In a message shared on its official X (formerly Twitter) account, CAF honoured the star player with a warm message: “Our best wishes for a happy birthday to the star and captain of the Moroccan national team. Enjoy your day, Achraf.”
Born on November 4, 1998, in Madrid to Moroccan parents, Hakimi began his professional journey at Real Madrid, progressing through the club’s youth ranks before debuting for the first team.
In the summer of 2018, he left Real Madrid for a loan spell with Borussia Dortmund, where he made a significant impact.
Following his success in Germany, Hakimi transferred to Inter Milan in 2020 and subsequently joined PSG in 2021 for a reported €60 million.
Known for his blistering pace, technical skill, and defensive acumen, Hakimi has become a key player for both PSG and the Moroccan national team.
His achievements on the international stage, including helping Morocco secure a bronze medal at the Paris Olympics, have cemented his reputation as one of Africa’s elite football talents.
His standout performances have also placed him among the 10 nominees for this year’s African Player of the Year award.
As Hakimi celebrates this personal milestone, he continues to hold a prominent role in both club and international football, exemplifying the skill and dedication that have made him one of the continent’s top athletes.
