Head coach of Kaizer Chiefs Ben Youssef Khalid feels his outfit were deserving of their narrow victory against Zesco United in the third round of the CAF Confederation Cup group stage clash.
The South African football heavyweights prevailed with a hard-fought 1-0 away victory over the Zambian outfit in the highly competitive Group D clash, held Levy Mwanawasa Stadium on Sunday.

“It was a physical game. For us the target, we came for three points, we didn’t come to play great football or to enjoy, we came for three points,” he said after the match, as per SABC 1. “I think we deserve to win this game, we deserve the three points.”
“I have to say congratulations for the players. We said we come for three points, we don’t come to play, and we come to win. That’s why I have to say congratulations to the players how they played, how they fight. They deserve it.” He said.
After three matches, Al Masry sit top of their group with seven points, followed by Zamalek (5 points), while Kaizer Chiefs occupies third position with four points. Zesco United are fourth on the table without a point.
The Zambian outfit will travel to South African for the fourth round fixture against Kaizer Chiefs this weekend.
